Feeling Crafty. :)

August 10, 2010

My Home Ec. class officially started today!

It has been so much fun already, and I’m so glad I decided to join the class.

*I also just read that they are still taking students thru August 15th! If you would like to join just click the link above.*

Just because I feel like it, here are some things I find inspiring!

I’m absolutely smitten with this little handbag! Gussy is one amazing seamstress. Be sure to check her blog out.

{My Girl Thursday}

The side part is really a “chalkboard”! I’m really anxious to get my hands on some oil cloth to come up with something crafty too.

I really like all of the colors in this pic. Super fun!

Well, hope those inspired you.

I’m really going to try and be better about blogging everyday… even if it’s just fun, little posts like this. I’m hoping my class will keep me super inspired and ready to blog!

Long day…

August 5, 2010

I had loads of fun hanging with these cute kids…

at the zoo today. We had lots of fun, but it was pretty hot out.

Needless to say I’m tired and my legs are sore… I sound like I’m getting old!

Anywho, these guys were pretty cute too.

I don’t think I would mind having one of these as a pet.

What do you think, Adam?

I doubt he’ll agree to let me keep one of these in the bathtub…

Oh, well… : )

I’ll post more pics from our trip later.

P.S- Happy Birthday to my wonderful mom! Hope your day was great.  Thank you for all that you do. :  ) I love you!

Just a quick note…

August 5, 2010

I’ve officially joined AND logged onto Home Ec!

It’s going to be awesome! There is already a ton of really cool guides up on the blog… I’m finally going to be a seamstress!

Well, hopefully…. : )

August 4, 2010

I love how I can be tired, worn out, stressed, and unmotivated… yet I can just spend a few moments glancing over a favorite blog and I can feel like a new person!

It’s awesome.

I’m so glad that I have even just a smidge of a creative side. I don’t know what I would do if I could look at something beautiful and not feel inspired.

Being creative is such an outlet for me. I love knowing that I have the potential to make something pretty with my own two hands.

I just joined Home Ec.… an on-line class for beginner seamstresses. I am so excited about this class! It sounds like it is going to be amazing.

My Grandma gave me a sewing machine when I was in middle school and I haven’t really done a whole lot with it until recently. This class is going to be exactly what I need to get (and keep!) the dust off my sewing machine. I’m going to learn how to make pillows, curtains, an apron, and even a quilt!

I love learning to be a homemaker.

: )

Class starts August 10th and I can’t wait!

{Thanks, Dad, for the pic!}

I think owls are pretty much one of the cutest things ever…. aside from my little kitties of course. : )

I have decided to use owls as my main theme as far as decorations go for the apartment. They’re just so cute and they have the added element of bringing the outdoors in.

We are painting the apartment tomorrow (Yay!) and I can’t wait to find homes for all of my adorable owl pieces.

It’s going to be so much fun.

Me and the boys…. our annual back seat picture.

I think it turned out pretty good.

What do you think?

On the road….

July 28, 2010

Sunday night was my first time being on the road with Indiana Baptist College.

The president of the school had asked me a little over a month ago if I would like to sing in their school’s traveling summer ensemble. Of course I said yes.

: )

We sang at a church about an hour north of the school. The church was small, but the people were very encouraged by our being there. It was so fun to be out ministering to other churches again!

My sweet boy came all the way up to support me and I was so thankful! It was so great having him there with me.

I’m really looking forward to attending IBC this fall. I honestly feel like this is exactly where God wants me and I can feel His hand working all of the details out. I’m so excited about all of the opportunities that IBC holds for me!
